In a successful tradition of comic book movies, the feature film rights are often bought up after the comic book has sat on the shelves a couple of years. “Cain’s Awakening” started life as a film script. Lawrence Pearce is an avid book reader, but it wasn’t until he completed the script that he realised the story would also play out perfectly with illustrations, panels and speech bubbles.
After reading “Brodie’s Law”, he contacted the books co-writer and artist David Bircham to work on “Cain’s Awakening”. The partnership created a graphic novel which has wowed industry insiders and looks set to build a large fan base for the “Cain’s Awakening” trilogy when it is released early 2009.
